Oscar De La Renta

Oscar de la Renta is best known for his creativity; creativity in his designs and his creativity through helping others.

Oscar was born in the Dominican Republic on July 22, 1932. At the young age of 24, Oscar designed a debutante gown for Beatrice Cabot Lodge, the daughter to the U.S. ambassador of Spain. Oscar was not just a designer, he loved people and his country. Later in his years, in 1982, Oscar started a school for underprivileged children in the Dominican Republic called La Casa De La Nino. Today, the center helps over 1,500 children.

Throughout the year, Oscar received numerous awards for his work and accomplishments and has dressed the most influential women on the red carpet and in the white house. Oscar dresses classy and confident women. An Oscar de la Renta bride is someone who loves luxury, appreciates quality and dresses high end. As Oscar grew older, he added Peter Copping to the design team. With the passing of Oscar de la Renta, Copping was soon named fashion director of Oscar de la Renta. Peter Copping has years of experience and even designed with Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton. However, only two years into his designs at Oscar de la Renta, Peter Copping decided to step down from his role. Designers, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, were soon announced the new designers for Oscar de la Renta. However, the duo is not completely new to the label and design. Kim and Garcia have a combined 18 years of experience with Oscar de la Renta before they left to start their own line, Monse.

Solutions Bridal decided to carry Oscar de la Renta because we believe our brides should have the best of best.  The 2017 designs include silk mikado, Guipure lace, and organza details. The Solutions Bridal team had the honor of selecting each piece during Bridal Fashion Week. We adore the collection for its balance of timeless style.  Oscar is famous for saying, “Fashion is about dressing according to what’s fashionable. Style is more about being yourself.”

Designers price $7,000 to $12,000
