Meet the Solutions Team // Social Media Strategist, Jamie O’Neill

We’re ushering in a new season at Solutions Bridal, and felt it was time to (re)introduce ourselves.  Through this weekly series, you’ll get to meet our full team, learn about our personalities, hobbies, interests and a few fun facts along the way.  Without further ado, we’ll introduce you to our incredible social media strategist, Jamie.

Name: Jamie O’Neill

Title: Social Media Strategist

Hometown: Orlando, FL

About me: I’m a student at UCF studying communications, set to graduate by 2020. Even though I never really thought I would go into fashion (more on that in the rest of my interview), I’ve been at Solutions for four years now, and it’s my goal to work for a major bridal fashion design house. I have a wonderful boyfriend, Alex, and we’ve been together almost a year. My mom, dad and sister live here in Florida, but the rest of our family is in Jersey, where my parents are from. I’m the resident curly-haired diva who loves all things 80s-inspired, which I guess might explain why people always tell me I was born in the wrong generation.

You’d be surprised to know … I really wanted to be a police officer. I have family in law enforcement, so I was always interested in the criminal justice field.

What I enjoy doing in my spare time: I am a student, so when I’m not at work I am typically doing my school work.  My boyfriend and I really enjoy going to the Plant Street Market and Crooked Can Brewery in Winter Garden.  On Sundays, when everyone is off, my whole family hangs out by my parents’ pool and play games together. I also love to travel, one of the coolest places I’ve been is Iceland!

Best Part of My Job … I love my job, so it’s hard for me to name one specific part, but I appreciate that I get to use my creativity to run the social media accounts including Instagram for Solutions Bridal. Getting to create the online identity for our brand is really fun. I will say, getting to go to NY Bridal Fashion Week is also one of the highlights of my year.

How I came to work at Solutions … I was recruited at 18 from J.Crew by the former manager. I was helping her select jewelry for the employee’s Christmas gifts and I asked her where she worked. Being that I was 18, when she told me she worked in bridal, I didn’t exactly know what that meant.  When I was assisting her at the register, she gave me her card and told me I should come work at Solutions as a Salon Coordinator. To be honest, I didn’t take it seriously at first. I sent her my resume but then I didn’t check my email for two and a half weeks, because I wasn’t exactly looking for a new job.

My dream wedding will be … Over the top! I want an open bar, lots of dancing. My dream is to have a black tie affair with a raging party. I’ll probably walk down the aisle to Ave Maria, in a full Catholic ceremony in a formal church with stained-glass windows. But then we’ll pump the 80’s music and get crazy at the reception.

If I chose a dress for myself to wear today … I obviously can’t share the exact details of the gown I adore most, because I’d like to reserve the ability to really surprise everyone with it. I will probably have two looks since the vibe of my ceremony will be very different from my reception. I really want to wear an ivory plunging neckline pantsuit for the party!

Favorite Celebrity Bridal Look … Solange Knowles because I love how chic and fashion-forward her wedding look was, but it was also timeless. I would never do an all-white wedding, but I loved the look of it.  Their overall wedding vibe was really quite normal, too, which I like. She’s one of my fashion icons in general.

What Erica says about Jamie:

“Jamie is the coolest person I know. She’s an old soul with the keenest fashion sense, magazine-worthy hair, and the best playlist around. In her five years with Solutions Bridal she has become a wealth of knowledge and is always more than happy to share what she’s learned to help others. If you follow our social media channels, you can thank Jamie for keeping our content fresh, interesting, and fun—which she also does for our work days.”
